PALM PLANTATION
Palm Tree
ThePalm Tree is a perennial tropic crop cultivated only within 10 degrees north and south of the palm belt and it can be cultivated only in areas with an average annual rainfall exceeding 1,700 mm and areas with an average temperature of 26~32 ℃.
The overview of the palm tree
- · Perennial tropical crops (economic life span: about 25 years)
- · After planting, the tree starts to produce palm fruits (FFB), reaching the peak production period of 8~15 years.
- · Without separate harvest seasons, year-round production is possible without interruption
- · Large-scale plantation is possible.
The fruits from the palm tree
It is possible to harvest about 28 tons of palm fruits per one ha and to extract 24 % of palm oil (OER, Oil Extraction Rate) from the palm fruits.
Countries of palm oil production
FFB (the bunch of palm fruits) is processed into CPO (crude palm oil) at the CPO Mill plant and refined to RBD Oil. Most of the produced RBD is used as edible oil, and some are also used as raw materials for consumer products such as soap, cosmetics and detergents, and biodiesel.
CPO MILL
CPO Mill is a plant to produce CPO (Crude Palm Oil) by processing FFB produced at the palm plantation. PT. Niagamas Gemilang successfully completed the construction of CPO Mill in November, 2016 and is currently producing CPO and PK (Palm Kernel).
Construction Summary
- · Type : Continuous Sterilizer
- · Completion : 2016.11.8
Continuous Technology
The latest technology of the Continuous Type sterilizer is applied at the CPO Mill in PT. Niagamas Gemilangl. Compared with the previous Conventional Type or Vertical Type in the past, the Continuous Type has already been proven to be an excellent technology in terms of oil loss, maintenance, stability and operational efficiency
